Why it’s senior-friendly: Soft, easy to chew toast topped with creamy nut butter and banana slices full of potassium and fiber.
Ingredients:
1–2 slices whole-grain bread (toasted lightly, if okay to chew; otherwise, soft)
1½ tablespoons almond butter (or another nut/seed butter)
½ banana, sliced
Directions:
Spread almond butter on the bread.
Top with banana slices.
For a warm, melty–soft version, press and lightly toast on a skillet, flipping after 3–5 minutes
Nutrition highlights: Combines healthy fats, fiber, and slow-release energy, good for maintaining steady blood sugar and feeling full.
Extra Tips:
Manage portions: Especially for high-calorie items like nut butter or nuts.
Prioritize ease: Choose soft foods or cut items into smaller, easy-to-hold sizes. Avoid textures that are too hard or dry.
Keep visual appeal: Colorful presentations (berries, veggies) can stimulate appetite.
Adjust for health needs: Adapt recipes for dietary restrictions (low sodium, diabetes-friendly options, etc.)
